Landlocked between the Tibetan region of China in the north and India in the east west and south. 54,000 sq. km 550 miles long and 150 miles wide. Divided into three regions: Himalayan belt in the north, mountain and hill regions in the middle and tropical forests in the south.

It is advisable to obtain a visa before entering Nepal.

International certificate of vaccination regarding current inoculation against Cholera, Typhoid and Yellow fever are recommended.

The standard Nepal time is 5 hours 45 minutes ahead of GMT. Saturday is the official weekly holiday.

 

Trekking permit

 
To visit Nepal’s interior regions not connected by major roads. Trekking permits are available from the department of Immigration in Kathmandu and Pokhara. Himalayan Odyssey shall be taking care of the Trekking permit as per the required itinerary. Two photographs are required with the application.
Clothing  

Warm clothes are required from November to February and tropical wear from March until October. Special clothing is necessary for trekking and mountaineering.

Climate

 

The climate of Nepal varies according to altitude. A visit to Nepal is possible all year round but activities such as Mountain flight, excursions to Chitwan, rafting and trekking operate from September until May.
